Health Education England Working across the South East are pleased to invite you to an Oral Health Conference

Presented by the Health Education England Thames Valley & Wessex Dental Directorate.
Thursday 5th May 2022 10am – 1.30pm (with log in and registration from 9.50am)

There is a growing body of evidence to support a reciprocal relationship between poor general health
and poor oral health. Tooth decay is the most common oral disease affecting children and young people
in England, yet it is largely preventable. Just under a quarter of all children in England have experience
of tooth decay by the age of age of 5 and tooth extraction is the most common reason for 6 to 10 year
olds being admitted to hospital. Good oral health can support people to stay independent for longer, or to recover from episodes of crisis or frailty. Being unable to eat and drink properly can lead to malnutrition or dehydration. All individuals have the right to an oral health status which enables them to function without pain and embarrassment, framed by their individual needs and aspirations.

Please join us for an Oral Health Conference to spotlight the importance of oral health and highlight how everyone across health and social care can be involved in supporting the prevention agenda.

The event is open to everyone and will be relevant to all health and social care professionals including GPs, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, allied health professionals, care staff and
practice teams. This event is free to attend and will be held virtually. CPD will awarded in accordance with the number of hours attended Please register using the link below.
