Pharmacy First – Local Information

  • Key Local Contact Information (out of hours, DoS etc) has been sent to the pharmacy directly, or is available by contacting us at CPSW (as some of the contact details are not public facing)
  • As CPSW we have been working closely with local stakeholders including the LMC, the Regional DoS Team and the BSW ICB to ensure that current referrals from CPCS and GP-CPCS continue at their current high level of activity, and transition smoothly into the new Pharmacy First service
  • If you are using PharmOutcomes as your IT supplier they now have a really useful video of the templates that will be used to record consultations; available in their Help section.  Please make sure that you watch to the end of the video for instructions for local GP referrals into Pharmacy First which will arrive via NHS mail (as per current GP-CPCS).  These referrals require the use of the Pharmacy First Patient Registration template, choosing the option Email Referral, and then either a Minor Illness or Clinical Pathway Referral Type.
  • Our local BSW ICB PGDs for UTI, sore throat and impetigo will be phased out as Pharmacy First starts.  We will work with the ICB to deactivate the local PharmOutcomes templates at an appropriate time.  We strongly recommend that the switch within the community pharmacy setting to the Pharmacy First PGDs happens from the start date of the service to avoid any confusion for the pharmacist, and to ensure you meet the threshold activity number for the £1000 monthly payment.  The locally commissioned Hydrocortisone and Chloramphenicol PGDs will remain active.
