Smoking Cessation Service – Local Information
Referrals into the service from Great Western Hospital started in January 2024. GWH is sending referrals via PharmOutcomes. Referrals from Salisbury District Hospital will start via NHS mail at the beginning of July and the RUH Bath are starting in mid August and will also be referring via NHS mail.

Those wishing to provide the service should notify NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHS England and Improvement) that they intend to provide the service by completion of an electronic registration declaration through the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) Manage Your Service (MYS) platform.
Training to provide the service needs to be undertaken:
National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) courses and satisfactorily pass of the assessments (where applicable):

- Stop Smoking Practitioner training and certification;
- Mental health and smoking cessation course;
- Pregnancy and smoking cessation course; and
- E-cigarettes: a guide for healthcare professionals course
