MECC Training

19th October 2022 9.30am to 12.30pm

Online Event

SBC are delighted to announce the re-launch of Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training. Due to the pandemic, the training programme was temporarily paused, but this free online training is back and delivered using an exciting new model being rolled out virtually across the South West of England.

  • MECC is an evidence based approach to behaviour change that utilises the millions of day to day interactions that we have with other people
  • It is a reflective skills-based training opportunity that encourages a different way of interacting in open conversations, recognising that a 30 second, opportunistic chat can be enough to empower someone and trigger a healthy behaviour change. MECC is not about adding to busy work loads, it’s about knowing how to approach an open conversation and make the most of your interactions with people

Those attending the training will benefit from:

  • Improved confidence in delivering very brief interventions
  • Better awareness of how and when to use opportunities to talk to people about their health and wellbeing
  • Developing skills to empower people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing

See poster HERE for more information and to register your place on the next free online MECC course. It is delivered by skilled trainers and open to partners and stakeholders across Swindon.
